New Delhi, INDIA (August 2008)
The first thing you notice when you arrive in Delhi, is the extrem poverty of the country and city... The contrast between rich and poor is huge! Also the city is highly polluated... However, I have to say that indian are very warm and welcoming people... Here some picture of Delhi taken from teh top floor of our hotel
Speaking of hotel, our hotel is the Sheraton New Delhi*****... A very high class hotel where you can enjoy real indian food, cooked by indian, with fresh product from India, in India!!!! Taste very different of what you can find outside India
Public transport in Delhi are either very old busses, trains, even a tube! But if you feel even more adventurous you can take a autorickshaw... But the safest is to rent a car and a chauffeur and it's really cheap as well.
Few mains road aren t too bad but other road are really in an extremly bad state! Also don t be surprised to see cows wandering on the pavement or on the road...
Now some sightseeing.... First at each monument you will find 2 lines, one for indian and one for foreigners. Usually entry price is 10 rupees for indians but 250 rupees for foreigners!!!!!
